💳 Credit & Debt

Avalanche vs. snowball

The story

Three balances: a 3,000 credit card at 24% APR, a 1,200 credit card at 19% APR, and an 8,000 student loan at 6% APR. Minimum payments total 180 a month. There is 250 a month available for debt, meaning 70 above the combined minimums. The question that actually matters is not "how much" — that is decided — but "which balance gets the extra 70 first."
